Rouge Bunny Rouge Love Lights Highlighting Powder in Goddess

In June, I told you about my newfound affection for Rouge Bunny Rouge Love Lights Highlighting Powder in Sweet to Touch. I knew I would cave and purchase the other shade, Goddess ($66.33), and I did in July. I couldn't stand the thought of being without that golden touch for summer, and I adore every Rouge Bunny Rouge product I buy.



The presentation of Love Lights Highlighting Powder is elegant. It comes in a large, circular box, with an insert that cradles the compact. There's no way this powder will break up in transit; it's packed with love. Once you open the compact, lovingly decorated with white flowers, you see the luminous pink powder, with a classy plastic insert with the Rouge Bunny Rouge coat of arms. Unwrapping the compact is itself a gift to the senses. There's even a powder puff in the box.

I've joined the nymphs in their dance around the night's fire. As I expected, Goddess has more color than Sweet to Touch, which is a very light pink and so close to my skin tone that it was hard for me to get a photo to show you for my earlier feature. When Goddess arrived, even though it's darker, I knew I would have to apply it heavily to get photos to show you the color. No one in her right mind will apply Goddess like I did for these swatch photos. Applied correctly, Goddess will touch you with sunlight, leaving a gleam and a glow to brighten your face.



In my first swatch photo at left, I used a sponge-tipped applicator to apply Goddess at the top of my arm, and I used a dense blush brush to apply it "moderately" below. Then I decided I wanted a darker photo - highlighters are so hard to photograph - so I applied the highlighter ridiculously heavily with the brush. That photo is just below.



My photos were taken in full sun, which added a bit of shimmer to my arm. I hope you can see that Goddess is a warm gold and subtly shimmering. It perks up my face and makes me look alive. I can use a powder brush and apply it on the high points of my face - or all over my face - to give me a natural sun-kissed look. It also sets my makeup. The Love Lights highlighters never look fake because they are so sheer, like a second skin.

Like this golden froth of musical syrup, 'When Birds are Singing...' Eye Shadows are a time-defying exotic enigma. This is plumage to adorn you in shades as deliciously mellow as soft silence that flows, or as brilliantly potent as jeweled notes. So addictive are these morsels that you'll be causing your own kaleidoscopic ripples every time you wear them.



The formula of When Birds are Singing... creates lively, dynamic color and a second-skin effect as the shadows melt into the eyelids, looking like they belong there. All of the shades stay perfectly placed and look freshly applied all day, without losing a bit of their luster. About six weeks ago, I received an order with Angelic Cockatiels and Gracious Arasari, two neutrals that looked lovely in the swatches. I selected them from 20 possible shades (actually 19 because of what I had purchased already), and I am thrilled with them. Although the online swatches looked similar, these eye shadows are very different. In the photo above, Gracious Arasari is shown on the left, and Angelic Cockatiels is on the right. All of my photos in this feature were taken in full sun.



Angelic Cockatiels is described as a metallic-finish golden honey with a hint of copper. A close-up of the compact is shown at left. Gracious Arasari is described at Zuneta as a semi-matte nude taupe with the barest whisper of pink. These are excellent descriptions.



Angelic Cockatiels is shown in the compact above left. It is exquisite on my skin - shimmering, softly metallic, and eye-catching. A close-up of Gracious Arasari is shown at right. You can see that this shadow in the compact has much less shimmer than the other. Fortunately (for my tastes), it's not "flat matte." It has life.



I took a few swatch photos to show you the shades on my arm. I applied each heavily (and dry) with a sponge-tipped applicator.



Where Angelic Cockatiels (at top) is bold and shimmering, Gracious Arasari is light and tender. They pair beautifully, although I haven't limited their use to this pairing. I love to use Angelic Cockatiels alone, swiping it quickly and lightly over my lid, from lash line to crease. It makes my blue eyes pop.



Gracious Arasari is a barely there taupe - perfect for us fair-skinned gals. It may not light up these swatch photos, but it's a remarkably useful shade. I like to use it in the crease when I want a natural look, and it makes a gorgeous liner under my lower lashes.



Your own coloring will guide your use of these shades or any of the other When Birds Are Singing... eye shadows. I've selected neutral shades, but I'm drawn to some of the vibrant colors. Mysterious Tinamou, a deep sea blue, reminiscent of a wild duck's plumage, looks exquisite. Whispering Ibis also looks gorgeous. It's described as an iridescent fern green, shimmering with gold pearls. I'm sighing. I keep ordering from Zuneta (I did last weekend when they offered free shipping). I love everything I receive. Rouge Bunny Rouge Succulence of Dew Sheer Lipstick - Tongue Tickles

After a brief hiatus, I'm continuing my Rouge Bunny Rouge series with a gorgeous lipstick. First, though, I need to express my thoughts about our friends in London, including the Zuneta team. After three nights of rioting, London has suddenly become a dangerous place. We are all hoping the government can find a way to restore order - quickly - with whatever show of force it takes to subdue crowds of vandals and looters. We hope that law-abiding citizens and those who are trying to protect them are safe. Now, back to beauty...



During one of my first online shopping forays at Zuneta, I saw that Rouge Bunny Rouge offered eight lipstick shades in a sheer formula. I love sheer lip colors. I had a dilemma. Buy one or all eight? I decided to buy one, try it out, and then order more. As you might imagine, I needed more. The first time I tried to order Tongue Tickles it was out of stock. I made a mental note to try again next time, and I did. When it arrived, I saw immediately why the shade is so popular. It was love at first sight.



Succulence of Dew Sheer Lipstick ($34.26) has all the qualities of my other new Rouge Bunny Rouge makeup beauties: whimsical packaging, lust-worthy color, and a story. Just look at Tongue Tickles at right. It's gorgeous! It's described at Zuneta as a sheer, shiny, pale carnation pink with a white shimmer. That's one description that may not be spot-on. It's so much prettier than "pale carnation pink," which brings to mind vapid bouquets for sale on the roadside.



Tongue Tickles is a sheer, warm rose that sings in sunlight and dances in moonlight. It's one of my best-ever blind lipstick selections. It's lively on the lips, lending a sheer, medium rose-pink warmth that's simply stunning. I need to hoard it.



I took a few photos in full sun, but at different angles to the sun, to show it to you. On my lips? Tongue Tickles is a sheer, gleaming rosy pink with a bit of silver shimmer. The photo at right is probably the best representation of the color.



I realize I'm creating competition for my next order. At least I have one for now. I'm saving up my wish list so that I can order enough to get free shipping. I just hope that Tongue Tickles will be available when I order again. I need three more!

Rouge Bunny Rouge Joys & Desires Decadent Duos

Rouge Bunny Rouge created a unique product. I've never had anything like it. There are many products that do double (or triple) duty, providing color for the eyes, lips, and cheeks. The Joys & Desires Decadent Duos ($43.43) combine a coordinating blush and lip gloss in one wand.

When I first glanced at the Decadent Duos, I assumed they were simply dual-ended lip colors, with a lipstick on one end and a gloss on the other. When I actually read about them at Zuneta, I had one of those "Wow!" moments, right before I ordered two.

The shades I ordered were Samba Enredo (#021) and Tango Argentino (#022). There are two other duos available. Samba Enredo is described at Zuneta as a delicate, pale lavender-pink base, suffused with the finest coppery-red and gold, pearly lip gloss, paired with a silky, illuminating, pale rose-petal pink blush. That description hooked me! Samba Enredo is described as a creamy, sheer coral-pink gloss, shimmering with pink and lilac pearls, paired with a silky, delicate, illuminating medium terracotta blush. I had to see that. I took a photo showing Samba Enredo at the top, with Tango Argentino below. I really wish I had ordered Rumba Cubana too. Rosewood shades delight me.

Let's pick up where we left off in the Enchanted Garden...no bunnies or butterflies, but a charming description nonetheless.

The liquid blush is an oil-in-water emulsion - to water your cheeks with bare color and to impart an extremely natural and even finish. I applied it heavily so that you could see the shade well in my swatch photos. On the skin? Sheer majesty. Both lip gloss shades are sheer and shimmering.

My photos were taken in full sun, and I applied each swatch directly with its applicator. The swatches of Samba Enredo are shown at the top of my arm. The lip gloss is a gorgeous plum-pink. It's very sheer and will enliven your lips with light. The blush is one of the prettiest cream blushes I have ever used. The rose shade blends to a naturally flattering shade on my cheeks. I might have to hoard this duo. The shades coordinate perfectly.

Tango Argentino also has two lovely shades that coordinate nicely, but not perfectly, on my skin. The pink gloss is a medium-intensity, cool-toned pink that isn't a natural neighbor to a terracotta blush. When I blend the blush on my cheeks, it loses the orange tone to a large extent and results in a pretty peachy look. I like the pairing of the gloss from this duo with the blush from Samba Enredo much more. Good thing I have both!

The duos are relatively small, making them ideal for travel or your handbag. With a few swipes, you can refresh your makeup and look pretty on the go. I've been using the duos in my bathroom, which is why I think I need a third for my handbag. These may become carry-along essentials - even though I'm trying to tote fewer products around with me.

I like them so much, I'm overlooking the propylene glycol in the blush and gloss ingredients. I would rather it weren't present. I know industry experts consider propylene glycol harmless in low concentrations, but I'm trying to avoid it.

What better way to continue my Rouge Bunny Rouge voyage than with more lipstick? My two new sheer lipsticks are shown in the tubes above, with Dark Juices at left and Fluttering Sighs at right. Dark Juices is described at Zuneta as a shiny, sheer blue-toned plum, shimmering with silver. That's a perfect description. Fluttering Sighs is described as a sheer, shiny tea rose warmed with a gold shimmer. Don't let the "tea rose" lead you to think it's a pure rose or pink shade. I think it's a peachy pink hybrid - definitely warm in tone.

Check out these swatch photos and see what you think. I tried to take them at different angles to the sun to show these gorgeous shades with all of their nuances. Fluttering Sighs applied a bit too heavily below Dark Juices. It was so hot out when I took these photos, the tube started to soften in the sun! It was one of those "cook a lipstick on the walk" days.

Dark Juices offers more shimmer than Fluttering Sighs. I fell in love with it instantly. It's in my "utterly perfect" color range. Plum shades are flattering - for me and many women. They work year-round, depending on their intensity. I've been wearing Dark Juices all week. The shimmer gleams, but not in a flashy, metallic way. It's perfect.

Fluttering Sighs has less shimmer, although my full sun photos show how beautifully it reflects light. The color is scrumptious - no other way to describe it. There's a lot of peach in the rose - at least on my skin. I think Fluttering Sighs is one of those color straddlers that will work on both cool and warm skins.

These sheer lipsticks adhere nicely, providing good wear and flattering color. Tongue Tickles is definitely next on my list. There's so much to love. At the rate I'm going, I'll own every Succulence of Dew shade before the year's out.

Rouge Bunny Rouge Silk Aether Long-lasting Cream Eye Shadow in Atlas Swallowtail

My Rouge Bunny Rouge love turned to lust a few months ago. In June, I featured Silk Aether Long-lasting Cream Eye Shadow ($40.32) in Velvet Fritillary, purchased from Zuneta. The neutral khaki with golden undertones was so pretty, it left me gasping. I knew I needed at least one more of the lovely cream shadows.

After deliberating for a month, I selected Atlas Swallowtail. Described as a satin wash of nude taupe with pewter reflections, buildable to a darker, more opaque, and metallic hue of the same shade, it sounded like a soul mate. Taupe, in all of its complex manifestations, may be a perfect eye shadow shade for me. Atlas Swallowtail has joined my favorite taupes I keep in a special place.

When my package from Zuneta arrived last week, it was one of the first items I tried. I had to dole out my new goodies one at a time in an attempt to survive the long weekend with a makeup treat for every day. I couldn't resist the cream shadow for long, though. Out came Atlas Swallowtail, and a deep satisfaction rolled through me. Just like a narcotic! (Sorry, but with the knee replacement still fresh in my mind, it seemed like a perfect analogy.)

My swatch photos just don't do this amazing taupe justice. It's sheer. I wanted its sheerness to show here, so I didn't apply it to my arm extremely heavily. In the first photo above, I turned my arm away from the sun so that you could see the shade with and without the sun's reflection on the swatch. In the second photo, below right, the sun was obscured by cloud cover, but it was still light enough to get a photo.

The finish of Atlas Swallowtail is definitely satin. It has a gleam, but no shimmer, making it absolutely perfect for your daytime looks - indoors or out. Anyone who finds shimmering shadows too bold will love the finish.

Silk Aether Long-lasting Cream Eye Shadow has a light, velvety, cream formula for a silky glide. The innovative silicon waxes and gels, in combination with beeswax, give it perfect slip as it glides over your eyelids, either with the wand or another brush. I dot it into my palm and apply it with a synthetic brush. Para cress flower extract and coffee extract in the formula offer a firming feature to perfect your look, as the color enhances it.

While birds have to dine, I'm not sure the story of When Birds are Singing... is one of my favorite Rouge Bunny Rouge tales. The fireflies deserve a life as rich as the other creatures in the Enchanted Garden!



I had no trouble selecting my duo. There were only two available. A Major - fis Minor (#038) is described at Zuneta as the palest golden wheat, paired with a delicately frosted muted mauve-brown, with a subtle gold accent. The other duo, C Major is described as iridescent, pale golden-toned mint paired with a light, iridescent lilac. There was no question which one would give me more wear - or be less theatrical.



When A Major arrived, my first thought was that it was even prettier than it looked online - the shades cooler and more exciting. When I applied the shades to my arm and eyelids, I knew I had a keeper.



I took my swatch photos outdoors in blazing sunlight. I applied each shadow with a sponge-tipped applicator, and I decided to mix them together to show you the blended shade too. My arm shows the golden wheat shade at top, the "mauve-brown" below (I would call it taupe), and the two shades blended together equally at the bottom. I found I had three shadows, not two - all of them gorgeous.



I applied the shades heavily (and dry) with a sponge-tipped applicator. They do shimmer, although the sunlight exacerbates the shine, particularly in the photo above right. The golden wheat shade applies like a dream, unlike some recent, pricey light shadows that are crumbly and fail to adhere. I adore it. The taupe brown? The right tone for my coloring! Mixed together? Sheer perfection!



I will get so much wear from this duo, I want more! I'm not sure I need C Major, but I know we can expect more duo selections from Rouge Bunny Rouge. Now I need to try a few of the singles in When Birds are Singing... Angelic Cockatiels and Unforgettable Oriole look lovely. Then there's Vicacious Maquari. This has become an addiction!

Rouge Bunny Rouge Sweet Excesses Glassy Gloss

I had been contemplating a long weekend with no makeup deliveries - agony for a makeup addict. No UPS, no FedEx, no Postal Service after Saturday (when they typically deliver nothing of importance - sometimes I think there's a strategy to convince us we don't need Saturday delivery). Then, I got lucky on Friday. My Zuneta box arrived filled with Rouge Bunny Rouge treasures. I've been doling them out to myself one at a time. I think I can stretch them though the weekend's makeup drought.

While imagining the sweet treats after which they are named, I selected Crisp Sorbet (#055) and Fleur Parfait (#056). Those are two of the desserts I would have ordered in a restaurant. It was a tough selection process. Each of the shades looked delicious.

If you've been reading my odyssey through Rouge Bunny Rouge, you'll know there's a story to go with each item. With this story, there are fewer butterflies and bunnies. The Enchanted Garden must have a dessert bar!

This line of glosses is an exceptionally tempting interpretation of the ambrosial table of sweets in the Enchanted Garden. Naughty, but oh-so-nice!

Think of lusciously ripe fruit dipped in the shiniest of honeys. Your lips will be optically plumped to a mouth-watering fullness and a lavish dream-star shine. Irresistible. Like a scrumptious dessert that cheers you to the bones just by inhaling it, these glassy glosses radiate spicy sweetness and utter intoxicating decadence.

All of these candy drops of color are heaped with exotic ingredients, and some abound with minute pearlized particles to sparkle your lips with glittering bejeweled effects. People will gaze at you with shiny-eyed infatuation, longing that you will possibly get ... a ... little ... bit ... closer.

Ultra-glossy finish with a soothing and protective blend of paper birch extract and woodland figwort speaks of the wild freshness, naturally. Antioxidant and anti-aging, our formula also contains cotton tree fruit extract to hydrate and revitalize.

What unusual ingredients! The boxes, as all Rouge Bunny Rouge boxes, are delightful. I hate to recycle them! So far, I've kept each, but know that at some point they will have to go. The glosses? Here was my first view taken through a camera's lens. I immediately saw that the two shades had a different look in the tube. I quickly learned that they did on my lips too.

Crisp Sorbet is described as a cushiony soft sheer coconut ice pink, with coral and gold opalescence. Fleur Parfait is described as a cushiony soft semi-opaque mauve pink with subtle silver highlights. That offers my clue for selecting my next shade. It will be "sheer." I prefer that look in this gloss.

My swatch photo was taken in full sun. Even with the sun's reflection, I think you will be able to detect the difference in formula. Crisp Sorbet sparkles with a sheer wash of fireworks. Fleur Parfait offers more color and a less flamboyant shine. Both colors are delicious, as their titles suggested.

The sheer Crisp Sorbet has an overall effect of peach, with a ripe fruity flavor that is fleeting. Fleur Parfait is light on my lips. I might not have selected it in person, but it's a delightful blue-pink gloss that will be fabulous over the brown-toned lipsticks I adore. The shades have some substance on my lips, meaning they last beyond the first hour of wear.

I am batting 100% with my Rouge Bunny Rouge orders. I have a few more treasures from this shipment. As I experience them over the next few days, I'll share them.

Rouge Bunny Rouge Love Lights Highlighting Powder ($63.59) whispers, like the moon's light on white flowers in the garden at night. The flowers glow - the only light in a garden dark with the night's activity. At one time, I considered planting only white flowers in one far corner of my garden, knowing I could glance out the window at nature's beacon. Rouge Bunny Rouge's Love Lights Highlighting Powder reminds me of those musings.

The pressed powder is available in two shades: Goddess (medium rose amber with a golden glow that I've decided I have to have, but haven't ordered yet) and Sweet to Touch (sweet baby pink with the finest Aurora golden glow effect). I do have Sweet to Touch. I'd like to share the love with you.

The presentation of Love Lights Highlighting Powder is elegant. It comes in a large, circular box, with an insert that cradles the compact. There's no way this powder will break up in transit; it's packed with love. Once you open the compact, lovingly decorated with white flowers, you see the luminous pink powder, with a plastic insert with the Rouge Bunny Rouge coat of arms. Unwrapping the compact is itself a gift to the senses.

The subtlety in the container translates into a radiant, but conservative, glow on my face. It doesn't shine. Instead, it looks makes my skin appear lit from within. That's worth every cent of the price!

Rouge Bunny Rouge Seas of Illumination Highlighting Liquid

This has been my year of discovery of Rouge Bunny Rouge. I have fallen head over heels, like Alice in Wonderland, for RBR cosmetics. In Chapter 1 of Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, Alice is bored as she sits on a river's bank with her sister. She notices a talking, clothed White Rabbit with a pocket watch hop past. She follows the White Rabbit down a rabbit hole, where she falls a long way to a curious hall with many locked doors of all sizes. She finds a key to a door, through which she sees an attractive garden - Rouge Bunny Rouge's Enchanted Garden? Just speculation on my part.

As I've opened the doors of the Rouge Bunny Rouge line, I've fallen in love. I've already recounted many of my purchases. Today, I want to show you the three Seas of Illumination Highlighting Liquids ($69.79) I purchased from Zuneta.

There are four shades available.

• Sea of Clouds, moonlight on the water with a luminous effect - a white shade that will brighten and freshen any skin tone
• Sea of Tranquility, pale pink, milky opalescence with white and gold pearls to enliven the skin with luminosity
• Sea of Showers, a honeyed white gold for golden gorgeousness
• Sea of Nectar, the darkest shade offered (but not that dark), rose gold to add a pale copper warmth

I had such a hard time selecting only one shade, I purchased three: all except Sea of Clouds. Like Alice, I was enchanted with the idea of opening all the doors.

Like all Rouge Bunny Rouge colors, these highlighting liquids have a story.

Evening mists rise and tenderly caress them, lingering languorously on their bodies to gift their skin with uncommon youth and beauty. We were inspired by this scene to bring you this dream in a bottle so that you can have your very own transformation.

The moisturizing surge of liquid pearls will dance whispers on your skin till dawn. Be as playful as the magical being that you are - you'll still look as sublimely refined and urbanely elegant as the Moon itself. This multipurpose water-based fluid blends easily with moisturizer or foundation to customize the look - to yours alone. The Seas of Illumination Highlighting Liquids are as delightful as their description, from the packaging to their lightweight, creamy liquid texture. Now that I've added these gorgeous illuminators to my newest Chanel palette and my Giorgio Armani Fluid Sheer "collection," I feel privileged. They are that special.

The containers have a handy pump top that dispenses a very generous portion with one press of the pump. When blended on my skin, the shades make me bright and glowing or golden and glowing - glowing in all cases. Once blended, these flashy shades settle into subtle brilliance - definitely wearable! Just use a light touch when you apply Seas of Illumination. With more than one, you can create a wardrobe of looks. You can use them as-is, mix them to create your own personal colors, or mix them with your foundation for an allover glow.

Sea of Tranquility is the palest of pinks. Sea of Showers and Sea of Nectar are golden. They don't look terribly different in the bottles, but they are on the skin. I took many swatch photos, probably because I was so excited by the shades. For my photos, I applied a tiny dab of each shade I purchased onto my palm and applied and evened it out with my finger. The shades are swatched, top to bottom, as Sea of Tranquility, Sea of Showers, and Sea of Nectar. My photos were taken in full sun.

Hopefully, you can see the nuances between Sea of Showers in the middle and Sea of Nectar at the bottom of my arm. While both are gold, Sea of Nectar has that rose gold tint that's so special to me.

These fluids blend effortlessly, leaving behind a magical lightness and radiant iridescence. Despite their unblended shimmer in my swatch photos, once blended on the skin, they impart a light-reflecting sheen. You can apply them under or over your foundation.

If you can select only one, you'll have to decide whether you want to be a pale beauty or a golden goddess. Should you choose to be a golden goddess, you'll have to make a hard decision. Pure gold or rose gold? I wouldn't say you need both - as I did - but it's a tough choice between equally exquisite shades. Try to play croquet with a flamingo!

What better way to continue my Rouge Bunny Rouge love fest than with a lipstick? I'm partial to sheer lipsticks, so when I saw at Zuneta that Rouge Bunny Rouge offered eight shades in a sheer formula, I had a dilemma. Buy one or all eight? I decided to buy one, try it out, and then order more. That "rational process" has resulted in an upcoming order - delayed gratification as I work my way though this whole line. I need more of these succulent lip colors!

The color on my skin and lips is watermelon at its finest.

The tube photo above - taken in full sun (with the cap holding the lipstick from rolling down the incline of my driveway) - makes the lipstick appear to have some orange in it. That's not the way it applies. I took multiple swatch photos to ensure that I could accurately portray the color on skin. All were taken in sunshine, but at different angles. I was trying not to shine so much, even though I had gleam in my eye from this gorgeous lip color.

This is the watermelon you see in Ralph Lauren ads - so perfect you can taste it. The only thing that could have eclipsed the magic of its "discovery" would have been for my darling garden bunny to appear as I was taking photos in my own Enchanted Garden. That would have been a sign.

The color is bright - brighter than I normally wear, but so gorgeous that I'm going to wear it often. It makes my eyes pop bluer than they normally look. It's not as sheer as Dior Addict. It's more like Chanel's Rouge Coco Shine in its finish. There's no fragrance to distract, and it's extremely long-lasting (remember, nothing lasts for hours on end for me). It feels good on my lips, with a hard-to-describe presence. I know it's there, but it's almost weightless.

I now think Murmurings may be too dark for me, but I know I'll be ordering Tongue Tickles, Dark Juices, and probably Fluttering Sighs. I'm sure I will sigh when they arrive. I still have more to show you from my second order, though. Stay tuned!
