Often referred to as the “Prince of the Ramp”, Arjun Rampal was a supermodel of the 90s. After winning the Society face of the year in 1994, Arjun became a known face in the fashion and modeling circuit.

Arjun was born on November 26, 1972. Initially he wanted to hit it big internationally, but soon he realized that the atmosphere there was not conducive to his growth and thus, he decided to settle back home.

The famous designer Rohit Bal noticed Arjun at a Discotheque and thus, became his mentor. While he was shooting for an ad film -Monte Carlo, he met Ashok Mehta, who wanted to cast Arjun in his directional venture. This film was “Moksh” opposite Manisha Koirala, which was soon forgotten.

Arjun’s second film “Jadh” was also shelved half way through. It was only after his third film “Pyaar Ishq aur Mohobat”, which released in 2001, that Arjun finally tasted success. After this he appeared with renowned actors like Aishwarya Rai, Preity Zinta, Amitabh Bachchan, Naseeruddin Shah and Boman Iraani.

Film like “Dil ka Rishta”, “Dil Hai Tumhara” and “Aankhen” made Arjun Rampal a house hold name. with his rugged looks and a special charm, he put the filom industry on fire and showed his potential to face any challenge.

Marriage for Arjun to the super model Mehr Jessia in 1997 got positive energy within him. Today he is the proud father of two girls, Mahikaa and Myra, whom he considers his strength.

A love for comfort makes Arjun define himself as “Cool and Casual”. He prefers wearing his track pants and t shirt and is a slave to designer Tarun Tahiliani’s Kurta Pyjama collections and boasts of having 80 pairs of sunglasses!

News has it that Arjun had also taken lessons in Indian classical vocals (for voice modulations), Urdu lessons (for proper Diction) as well as some dancing lessons. Though he has had only 15 days of training in acting, he thinks it has made him a better performer.

His recent films like “I See You” and a small cameo in “Don” haven’t fetched much public acclaim and its time Arjun should show his real mettle in acting.
